Burma’s nuclear ambitions are getting a boost from Korea, but this time its not coming from Axis of Evil member, North Korea but from Pyongyang’s southern cousins.
Xinhua is reporting South Korea will train officials and technicians from ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member countries on nuclear power stations. The training is intended to reduce the use of fossil fuels in order to help protect the environment.
South Korean officials offered the training during a meeting of regional energy ministers recently in Mandalay. The training program will last for three years from 2009 to 2011 and will involve 150 technicians and senior government officials from ASEAN countries.
Concerns were raised recently, when it was revealed Burma was working with North Korea to develop its nuclear capabilities, with the goal of developing a bomb!
