Aung Shwe, the ageing chairman of Burma’s opposition party, the National League for Democracy (NLD) is recovering following treatment for poor health last month reports New Delhi based Mizzima News.
Aung Shwe has reportedly been in poor health following celebrations marking the NLD’s 20th anniversary on September 27.
Mizzima quotes Nyan Win, the NLD’s spokesman as saying it was an ordinary flu case and he is better now. “He is taking rest in his house,” he said.
Meanwhile, NLD Secretary U Lwin is also said to be suffering from failing health. The 84 year old is unable to walk properly and cannot get to the party’s offices.
