Sharing memories of The Vine at Dave's

I have a friend, who recently admitted, she was “too big of a princess” to ever visit Mae Sot. And, its true Mae Sot is a little way off the beaten path, although contrary to popular belief, we do have tarmac roads.
But, anyone who does make it to Mae Sot soon finds their way to The Canadian Restaurant, aka Canadian Dave’s or for those of us who spend way too much time there, simply; Dave’s.
And, it was in Dave’s recently that I meet some young ladies who were part of a team from Hong Kong University that is in town teaching English at local migrant schools over the summer holiday. At first, they didn’t believe that I was from Hong Kong, and were stunned to learn I used to live in Pokfulam, just down the road from HKU.
And, if that wasn’t coincidence enough, one of them, Sarah attends the 11:30 service at The Vine, my home church!
