They were just a few silly card tricks; a variation on the ambitious card routine, and a few colour changes, followed by a short routine with a thumb tip. Pretty simple, but effective. However, those tricks were enough to demonstrate the transforming power of Christ and prompted half a dozen people to receive salvation through Christ!
A great example of how God is able to take whatever we bring as our offering and use it to fulfill His purpose.
It was even more impressive, if you bear in mind that I’d been sitting in the small poorly ventilated school house for over an hour and my hands had become very sweaty, making it hard to do some of the more complicated slight of hand techniques. And, with most of the ‘show’ before my set consisting of a mishmash of dramas and Christmas carols, most of the audience had left before I took the stage.
There were probably less than 20 people left by the time I was introduced. At the time I had been a bit disappointed. But, as I walked home, it seemed like the hosts of heaven were rejoicing. But, then I realized, the Thais were letting off fireworks to celebrate the King [of Thailand]’s birthday!
