Praying for Hong Kong

I joined a prayer walk around Victoria Peak on Sunday afternoon. We had planned on spending two hours walking around the Peak, praying over the city.

However, torrontial rain and gale force winds meant we ended up huddled together under the Lions Club pagoda for 45 minutes. The weather also meant that instead of having a large group, there were only three of us.

But, in Matthew 18:20, Jesus says: “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” So, we have to trust that even though we were small in numbers, our prayers had power.

When you think like that, the important thing is not how many of us there were, or for how long we prayed, but simply that we prayed!

We did not let the weather defeat us, nor give in to the temptation to head back indoors out of the wind. But, it would be nice to get a few more people along next time.
